Polaroid Photoshoots
Commission an instant film photoseries with a contemporary artist and former fashion week photographer
Photography has been one of the drivers of aesthetics and visual culture. The Instant Film as Contemporary Art Monthly Series explores some big questions: What makes a photograph contemporary art? How do photographs gain cultural significance? Along the way, we will address enduring themes such as identify, memories, change, knowledge, and the social imaginaries captured by today’s photographs. Co-organized by M. Freddy.
Original Artworks
Painted with non-toxic chalk pastels, the artworks in M. Freddy’s latest series “Urban Wildlife” are accompanied by custom prose. Collectors offer the first sentence and he responds with a reflection shaped by the painting — a story that invites dialogue.
Visible is an experimental, open-ended magazine. From personal to systemic challenges, creatives share the invisible parts of their lives — and offer hope for change. Philosophical and theoretical discourse are welcomed but not required. These are the stories from the makers on the vanguard of culture.
